This post was inspired by the blog post written by the Clicks team. I’m here to demonstrate how I’ve been using the Clicks keyboard and share some cool use cases and incredible benefits of having a physical keyboard.
8am - Wake up
I grab my iPhone 16 pro (Not max) with clicks in onyx from the cable in the morning. I load up my backpack with my camera, film, and a secret book 😉
9am - arrive in a NYC chinatown cafe
using the
cmd+space bar
shortcut to search for a coffee shop nearby on my app (somethingto.do) and on google maps. 9:30am - Customer emails
Answered a few customers emails while I wait for my friends outside the coffee shop.
Meet up with some friends and show them my secret book, talk about cameras and other projects.
10:20am - Rundown for the day
Wrote some Japanese phrases to my Japanese crash-course notes.
I also took some photos and discovered some interesting facts using Apple’s implementation of Google Lens, which is powered by Apple’s intelligence.
2pm - Grab lunch in the East Village
Using my tool I looked for a restaurant that I have not visited yet and just went with it. This time was a restaurant called Smør in the East Village.
Food was delish! I had a danish hotdog and a set of salt and pepper fries.
2:30pm - Add Smør to somethingto.do
After visiting every place I try update as soon as possible my entry on something to do.
To update something to do, I connected to my homeserver from the restaurant using Tailscale. Once I was on my homeserver, I simply opened my codeserver instance and updated the JSON file that contains information about the restaurant. I then pushed the changes to GitHub. Is that easy!!
All of this is possible because of the clicks keyboard. Before, it was impossible because the on-screen keyboard took almost all the available space.
3pm - Connect to my windows instance at home for funcies
After updating my website, I decided to connect to my Windows 11 instance and perform tasks that would be impossible to do on my phone, such as simply running Windows.
The separate keyboard and the absence of an onscreen keyboard are simply that good!
4:00pm - Take photos for my next photo project
Currently for the first photo project, I’m capturing the iconic Empire State Building on Polaroid cameras from various vantage points. While for the second photo project, I’m documenting the West Side Highway Park.
8pm - Home sweet home
now I can just use my laptop for laptop stuff, and use a keyboard shortcut to see today’s damage on my budgeting app.
